The Hudson River Valley is one of the most beautiful spots in the world. The region has been able to retain its rural character in large part because of the many thriving farms and wineries. The cornucopia includes fruit and berries, vegetables, garlic, meat and cheese, and fine wines. Nonedibles include Christmas trees, wool, natural fiber clothing made from locally grown wool, livestock, and flowers. The region is rich with excellent farm markets - Montgomery Place Orchards in Red Hook, the Rhinebeck Farmer's Market, Greig Farm in Red Hook, LaTerre Garlic Farm off Field Road in Clinton.
Many fine inns and B&B's line the banks of the Hudson River and are found in the historic towns and villages found in the valley.
The Hudson River Valley leads directly to the Capital of New York State, Albany, and further north, the Adirondack Mountains. |
